Greetings! This is guide that should assist you in your survival if you follow the rules given. As absurd as some of they may seem, all the information we have gathered was obtained with some rather fatal results. Be glad it wasn't you. Now, as you may know, you were hired to act as a Watchdragon, who keeps an eye out on the valley in case of invading tribes.
That is a lie. There is no invading tribes. Only Them. We guard against Them, so others don't have too. It is imperative that the common citizen does not become aware of Them. Now, let us get onto the tips and tricks we have learned over our century long watch. You don't need to know what They are yet.
1: As you may have noticed, the valley below has a circle of stones of which several statues may appear. It is vital to take note what statues are in place. If there is any Green Skwyings, refer to 1:A. If there is two Purple Seawings, refer to 1:B. If there is a Yellow Nightwing, leave Lockthorne Keep immediately. Come back the next day. Any other combinations of statues are meaningless as far as we are aware. If you see Blue Mudwings, refer to 1:C.
1:A
Do not travel in pairs. Only alone or in trios. Also remember, we do Not Employ Skywings. Do not trust any you see, but do not act surprised at their existence. They aren't dragons, but we can pretend that they are. If one follows you, ignore it. If two follow you, head immediately to the Chambers. The sooner you get there, the greater your chances. Pray there isn't three.
1:B
Do not drink any water. You will be incredibly thirsty, but you will not die. They never appear twice in a row.
1:C
There is no Blue Mudwings. They are a lie. If you see these statues in any number, they are not real. Do not trust the statues, despite what they may whisper. They are not your friends. They are not your family. Real dragons don't have that many teeth.
After you have assessed what statues there may be, act accordingly.
2: Mechanical time-keeping devices will fail you. Do not rely on them. Check the statues. They change poses every hour.Don't go into the Clocktower. It belongs to Them
3: Remember, real dragons don't have six wings. However, if one also has eight legs, you can trust them. They aren't dragon, but they aren't a foe either. Though be ready to give something up; their services aren't free.
4: If you work the nightshift, you are dreaming. There is no nightshift. Report any such dreams to your captain.
5: Tell no one outside of work what you do. It only endangers them.
?: If you encounter Them, remember that They aren't dragons, despite what they may appear like. Do not trust anyone who uses your voice. The cries and laughter are merely lies.
6: Report any instances of the Gate being open to your captain.
7: Do not make promises you cannot keep. You will find yourself regretting your words. Always fulfill any promises you make while on the premise of Lockthorne Keep.
8: There is no invading tribes. We are at peace. The legions that may come are to be ignored. They aren't real.
9: Fellow coworkers always have their armor on, just like you. Dragons without issued armor are to be reported.
10: Kill any dragonets on sight, regardless if they appear like your own child. They aren't dragonets. If you cannot do it yourself, report them to Cleanup. Make sure you always know their exact whereabouts at all times. Do not look away for longer than a minute.
11: Failing to follows the Rules may result in termination.
As you advance up the chain, you will become more aware. Unfortunately, the more you know, the more that binds you. Ignorance is bliss. Do not delve deeper lest you risk certain fates. Listen to your captain. You will be made aware of what is vital for your tasks. If you find any rules outside of what is directly given to you, do not read them.
Best of luck to you, rookie. You might even last a while.
